Snowmobiling crash near Three Hills claims life of 22-year-old male
THREE HILLS — One man is dead following a snowmobile crash near Trochu.
Overnight on Saturday, Jan. 16, a group of sledders was travelling by snowmobile from Huxley, Alta. south to the town of Trochu, say RCMP.
Shortly after heading out, one of their group — a 22-year-old male — collided with a large hole just after 2 a.m. and was thrown from his sled.
The man was transported to hospital in Three Hills, where he later died.
Police say the deceased was wearing proper safety equipment at the time of the crash.
Alcohol was involved, but police say wasn’t a factor in the crash.
Huxley is about 158 km. northeast of Calgary.
